Foreword

This is a blog that I set up to record some of my experiences over five months of my life.  I will be traveling through Asia, Africa, South America and Antarctica.

My phone will be shut off while I'm gone.  If you need to reach me, I'm on What's App, or you can email me at [email protected]

More Pictures from Ancient Town (Old Town)

After the beach yesterday, I rode my bicycle into the Ancient City and went to the Central Market where they sell a lot of produce, fish, souvenirs, etc.  They also have custom tailors there that will make you just about anything and have it ready by the end of the day.  I had two tee shirts custom-made.

Hoi An Beach

Yesterday I rode a bicycle to the beach and took a few photos.  I went back this morning and someone watched my bag so I could jump in the South China Sea for a few minutes.  The waves were pretty strong.

Then I had Hoi An spring rolls for lunch at one of the beach restaurants.

One Month in...

This is day 32 of 160 on my trip and I've hit six countries so far, four of which I hadn't previously visited.  This is a photo of me today in front of the Golden Bell Homestay where I'm staying in Hoi An.  Hoping to burn off a few pounds during this trip...

Lunch and Dinner

I decided to walk to the Old Town today, which ended up being almost half an hour from the hotel.  Along the way I stopped for lunch and had prawns with garlic (I ate half of it before I remembered to snap a photo).  For dinner I had Hoi An Chicken and Rice, and then walked through the night market.

Hoi An Old Town

The Old Town in Hoi An is a complete opposite of the Old Quarter in Hanoi.  Instead of constant beeping and dodging scooters, the Old Town only allows pedestrians and bicycles.  These aren't the greatest pictures but I'm planning on spending part of the day there again tomorrow.

Hoi An Hotel

I flew into Danang around lunchtime and took a car to the Golden Bell Homestay in Hoi An.  I booked it through Booking.com.  This place is great (about US$20/night I think).  The Wi-Fi is the best I've had so far on the trip, flat screen TV with American Cable, king-sized bed, balcony, breakfast, and they have free bicycles to ride into town or the beach.

I took the sunset photo on the beach after we went swimming.  The sunrise photo was taken from the top deck of our boat around 6:15 am before we did Tai Chi.
